40 Hour Required Externship

Students are required to spend 40 hours in a dental office setting. This opportunity is offered to the student for the practical application of all skills learned while in school.

The externship provides actual hands-on work experience prior to graduation. The 40-hour externship program must be completed before graduation. The student may start the program after completing at least eight weeks of the course. This will give the student enough introductory knowledge of the dental profession.

Our team will assist with externship placement or you are able to select an office of your own that is pre-approved by the school.

Although most students successfully complete the 40-hour externship requirement in one week, students have a maximum of four weeks to complete their externship in order to satisfy the graduation requirement.
